Located in East Texas, this lakeside residence is a home away from home for a Dallas family of three.
In the city, the husband is a partner at a law firm by day and a competitive ironman by night. The wife is a stay-at-home mom to a teenager while simultaneously volunteering with community philanthropies.
When they hop on Highway 175, they leave their traditional Southern residence and head to their sleek, modern getaway.

Herrin Design Concepts brought the family’s vision to life with intentional style selections.
“We focused on a clean, organic, and earthen approach,” said Kirk Hughett, Co-Owner and Designer at Herrin Design Concepts. “We sought a vibe with the client that is current and sophisticated, but still remains approachable and comfortable.”

Materials were carefully considered to create the waterside space.
“Using amazing art, warm woods, and one-of-a-kind furnishings, we pulled together the vacation dream home our clients had only begun to dream,” said Hughett.

The house sits on Cedar Creek Lake.
“It feels like a peaceful oasis,” said Todd Heger, Project Manager at Hawkins-Welwood Homes.

The thoughtfully assembled team is to credit for the end result.
“The ability and skill of our subcontractors combined with the vision of our homeowners and joined with the keenness of the designer made for a perfect home,” said Heger.
